A 17-year-old student at a Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, school fell to his death, and now an investigation is taking place.
Authorities say that the student jumped from a 3rd-floor balcony at the school, at 1600 NE 4th Ave.
He was transported to Broward Health Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
“This morning, unfortunately, we are mourning the loss of one of our own students…The young man, unfortunately, did decide to take his own life. It was an isolated incident…,” stated the district’s superintendent.
As parents came to retrieve their children, they expressed how essential it is have talks with your children.
“You just need to pay attention to your kids, talk to them everyday, feel that connection with them. We need to know what is happening with our kids,” stated one mother.
