On Friday morning, a toddler was discovered deceased in a canal, close to an apartment complex, in Florida.
Bradenton police received a call about what seemed to be a child in a canal, near the View Carlton Arms Apartments. That individual retrieved the child from the water and waited for first responders.
Detectives stated that the child was a 2-year-old boy who resided at the apartment complex. Although a medical examiner will determine how the child died, it seemed to be a drowning.
Authorities are in communication with the child’s family to figure out how the body ended up in the canal.
No criminal charges have been reported in the case.
