Five Mexican students were murdered after being lured for a fake job offer by the cartel.

The young men, who range in ages 19 to 22 years of age, have been identified as Roberto Olmeda,
Diego Lara, Uriel Galvan, Dante Cedillo, and Jaime Martinez. The victims, who were reportedly friends from Jalisco, went missing Friday while at a festival in the city of Lagos de Moreno. According to reports, the last their families had heard from them, they heard about a job at a call center and were trying to get hired.

The job, which was a hoax, was an opportunity for the cartel to recruit new members as hitmen. Authorities believe the 5 men turned down the offer to be a hitman which infuriated the cartel, leading to the subsequent events.

Camera and video footage surfaced of the boys being held captive and tortured. The bodies were later discovered burned and decapitated on Thursday.

According to the gruesome footage, one of the friends was forced to decapitate another one, amongst many other torture tactics.
