Arlington Police Fatally Shoot A Man During Domestic Disturbance At FJ Kane Park

A man was shot and killed by Arlington police during a domestic disturbance at FJ. “Red” Kane Park.

On June 9, around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on the 6500 block of S. Cooper Street.

When officers arrived they found 42 year old Shannon Boyd firing multiple rounds at a woman.

The officers immediately pulled out their weapons and began firing at Boyd. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, was shot multiple times and transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

According to police Boyd has a long history of domestic violence.

The officers involved in the fatal shooting have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

A criminal and internal affairs investigation are currently underway.
