Dallas Based Rev. Frederick Haynes III Steps Down From Rainbow PUSH Coalition

Dallas pastor Rev. Frederick Haynes III stepped down from his position at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition after serving only 3 months.

Rainbow PUSH Coalition, which is based in Chicago, swore in Rev. Haynes on February 1st of this year. Prior to that, he was the senior pastor at Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas since 1983.

He replaced civil rights leader Jackson, who had been the leader since 1971. Without specifying the exact reason for leaving, Haynes explained that he felt the need to “move in another direction”.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and promised to continue fighting for justice.

In a statement Tuesday evening, Rainbow PUSH accepted Reverend Frederick Haynes III’s resignation. The son of the former leader, Yusef Jackson, will now serve as the chief operating officer.
