Officers were assigned to a racing initiative and observed a large crowd of people and vehicles at 1400 S. Henderson Avenue Sunday night.
The officers observed several vehicles doing donuts in the parking lot and when the officers drove onto the parking lot everyone began to scatter.
The officers began to pursue one of the vehicles doing donuts in the parking lot when it began to flee the location.
The officers briefly pursued the suspect vehicle but then called off the pursuit because the suspect was driving too fast as they fled through the neighborhood.
The officers in the initial squad car shut down their emergency equipment and tried to perform a U-turn at Winslow Avenue and Henderson Avenue.
As they were performing their U-turn another squad car following them impacted into the left front quarter of their squad car with the front distributed of the second squad car.
The second squad car then continued off of the first squad car and impacted into a parked unoccupied black 1996 Chevy Suburban SUV parked in front of 1500 S. Henderson Avenue.
The first squad car came to rest after a short roll next to the black suburban.
The two officers in the second squad car were transported to Baylor Medical Center Hospital as a precaution and were both released from the hospital later on.
The two officers in the first squad car were driven to the hospital later by a Sergeant to get checked out.
All officers have been released from the hospital with no injuries reported at this time.
