Trametria Baldwin was arrested in 2021 after she was located inside the apartment of 57-year-old Lorita Bastiste, who was found beaten to death.
Garland police responded to the 800 block of La Prada Drive on May 1, 2021 and discovered Bastiste unconscious, with blunt force trauma on her body, inside her apartment. She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The 33-year-old suspect was on scene at the time of discovery. Investigators say an altercation broke out between both women and Baldwin beat Bastiste until she was no longer breathing. She was arrested and charged with murder.
According to court documents, Baldwin agreed to the lesser charge of manslaughter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
