An investigation is underway after a married couple was found shot to death inside their home in Fort Lauderdale.
Officers responded to a home on the 600 block of Southwest 30th Terrace after a family member called and said two people were shot inside the home.
Upon arriving they found two victims, Major and Claudette Melvin, inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. When emergency crews arrived both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are investigating foul play. They also believe that the unknown suspect took the victims vehicle from the home. The vehicle is a 2014 red Ford Fusion with Florida tag LTDQ16.
This is a very tragic incident. The couple had been married for 61 years.
