Elderly Woman Shot After Teens Try To Break In Her Car

An elderly woman was shot outside her home late Wednesday night in Shreveport.
According to reports authorities were called out to the 800 block of Poleman Road when a woman was shot in front of her home by a group of teenagers.
When authorities arrived they found Genevieve Jackson,78 with a gunshot wound in her leg. She told authorities that her and her husband went outside to check on their vehicle because the alarm sounded and when they did they saw three teenage boys between the ages of 13 and 14 trying to break in their car.
Jackson told authorities that one of the boys pulled out a gun and began shooting. She was transported to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries and her husband was not injured.
Authorities later found the teens on N. Market Street along with the handgun on one of the boys.
They were all taken into custody and charged with vehicle burglary and the 14 year old was charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm and attempted first degree murder.
