Escaped Inmate Charles Spraberry Back In Custody

Escaped inmate Charles Spraberry is back in custody with the help of Caddo Parish Deputies.

The inmate was arrested around 8:01 a.m. Wednesday morning after a small police chase on
LA 169 south of Moringsport.

They arrested Spraberry along with a female that was in the vehicle with him. They were booked into Caddo Correctional Facility.

On Monday, around 7:45 p.m., it was said that 44 year old Charles Obin Spraberry created a homemade shank, stabbed one of the jailers and made way to the front of the jail.

Once there he forces a female jailer to open the doors in which he escaped.

The Texas DPS and Cass County deputies were called out to the jail. The TDCJ track dogs were also brought out but could not find a lead.

U.S. Marshall’s, the Texas Rangers, Texas DPS and Cass County Sheriff’s along with local authorities worked together to locate the individual.

Spraberry was in custody on multiple felony charges such as sexual assault, assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and a felon in possession of a firearm. He is also expected to face multiple new charges.
