Father Rescues Infant Twin Daughters From House Fire

2.1kviews

Ray Lucas and his girlfriend ran to the store last Saturday morning. When they arrived back to their Detroit home, their house was engulfed with flames.

Lucas’s twin daughters, 18 month-olds Milan and Malaysia, were slumbering in the basement.

“I just knew that I had to get my babies out,” he said. “That’s what went through my mind.”

Lucas was able to retrieve the girls successfully. Both girls were sent to the ICU. Malaysia has been released from the hospital; however, she has major burns. Milan endured some smoke inhalation and second-degree burns.

Lucas suffered temporary blindness for three days and burns on the arms. He also can’t work at the moment due to his wounds. His family has lost everything and their medical bills are increasing. Thus, they have set up a GoFundMe.

The family had a flood the day before and believes that may have been the cause of the fire.
