South Oak Cliff High School’s Athletic Department has announced exciting new changes to their basketball team this season.
The South Oak Cliff boys basketball program welcomes Sydelle Toney, the first woman officially hired to the Golden Bears Boys Basketball staff. She is the first woman to join the faculty in the history of SOC Athletics.
Coach Sydell Toney holds the title of Assistant Coach and brings with her some very credible experience.
For over 20 years she has coached all age levels across the board, including high school and college with both male and female teams.
Coach Sydelle Toney was also the head Women’s Basketball coach at Mountain View College where she lead the team to their first winning season in over 6 years. Her second year with the team wouldn’t fall short either. She then coached the team to their 2nd year record of 17-8 which was the first back-to-back winning season Mountain View College has seen in over a decade.
In addition to this noted experience, Sydelle Toney also coached select AAU basketball where she was with the boys teams for the last 10 years.
