An investigation is underway after Fort Worth police released body cam footage of an officer shooting a suicidal man.
Officers responded to a call regarding a man with a rifle threatening to shoot himself Sunday night. When officers arrived they found the man holding a rifle.
Officers asked the man to drop the weapon several times but he ignored their commands and pointed the weapon at them.
An officer then fired his weapon shooting the man. He was transported to an area hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.
After recovering the weapon officers learned that the rifle was not loaded.
This investigation is ongoing.
