Inmate At An Oakdale Louisiana Federal Prison Dies From COVID-19 Virus

An inmate died at a Louisiana federal prison Saturday from the Coronavirus.
Patrick Jones,47 is the first inmate to die from a COVID-19 related death in the federal prison system.
He was hospitalized on March 19 after complaining about a cough and placed on a ventilator the next day.
Jones died eight days later.
He had been in the prison since April 2017 serving a 27 year sentence for selling crack cocaine in a school zone.
The Oakdale prison has since had 5 confirmed cases of the COVID-19.
