Garland police are investigating after they say a man involved in a carjacking Friday shot himself.
The incident happened around 9am when Wylie PD notified Garland PD about a stolen vehicle.
Apparently the incident happened when a man carjacked a person at gunpoint in Dallas and began a pursuit with Wylie.
During the pursuit the suspect stopped the car in an alley near the 1400 block of Bosque Drive.
That’s when authorities tried negotiating with the driver and heard a gunshot from inside the vehicle.
The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
No other people were injured.
