26-year-old Charles Maurice Murray was taken into custody after it was learned that he had been at a home in Dallas. At about 12:30 a.m., he was taken to the Plano City Jail.

Murray has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the incident that happened on Tuesday, police say.

Authorities in Plano state that at about 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday night, Murray attacked someone in the 600 block of Coit Road. During the occurrence, Murray struck the victim multiple times with a hammer, then fled with the hammer in his hand.

Detectives think that Murray also attacked other people with a hammer in the DFW metroplex within 24 hours. But, it isn’t clear why he attacked the victims.

Murray was captured on video wearing the same attire in each of the attacks, and it is thought that he traveled from place to place using DART transportation.
