Donte Elbert, 36, has been apprehended after robbing the same store 11 times.
On Monday, Elbert was apprehended by the Chicago Police Department.
Elbert is accused of conducting the robberies from December 2022 to April of this year.
“He was taken into custody because he tried to pass the point of sale without paying for merchandise,” a police spokesperson noted. They added that formal complaints were signed by personnel at the business which also helped in the apprehension.
Elbert is also accused of stealing items from somewhere else, as well.
He has been charged with nine felony counts of retail theft of products less than $300, three felony charges of retail of theft of merchandise worth more than $300, and one misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge.
