A Maryland man and woman are in jail and facing attempted murder charges after an altercation broke out on Christmas Day.
John Sebastian Lopez,20 and his unnamed girlfriend reportedly went to his ex girlfriend Rhyne Gaulden,17 house in Odenton, Md to confront her and when they got there they banged on the door and windows until she opened the door and came outside.
Gaulden says when she opened the door the woman started punching her in the face and that’s when she sprayed the woman in the face with mase but the woman continued attacking her.
Gaulden also told police that while the two were fighting she pulled a knife out of her pocket and stabbed the woman in her back and that’s when her ex Lopez pulled out a gun and shot her in the leg.
The couple fled the scene and went to Laurel Regional hospital where the girlfriend was treated for her stab wound.
Gaulden was taken from the scene by ambulance to a nearby hospital and treated for her injuries.
Police later arrested Lopez and Gaulden and charged them with attempted murder and assault. Gaulden was charged as an adult.
The girlfriend was not charged with anything.
