A North Texas man has died after he was hit on the freeway while exchanging insurance information with another vehicle following a crash.
26-year-old Sergio Torres, husband and father to a little boy, died along I-20 in Fort Worth when he was hit by a motorcyclist.
Torres, his wife, and their 3-year-old son were heading home on Saturday night when their Toyota sedan was rear-ended by another vehicle near Hulen Road on I-20.
Both vehicles remained at the scene and Torres stepped out with the vehicle’s insurance in hand to provide to the other driver.
A motorcyclist, who witnesses say was speeding and swerving in and out of traffic, crashed into Torres and his vehicle. The force tossed Torres across the lanes of traffic and he died at the scene.
Fort Worth Police Department says the motorcyclist also died at the scene.
Torres’s wife was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. Their little boy was uninjured in the wreck.
