The off duty Dallas police officer that was caught on surveillance footage racing another vehicle on Mockingbird Ln has died.
The incident happened Sunday when Officer Joseph George was captured on a home surveillance video in what appeared to be his black mustang and a white Suzuki racing down the street.
He lost control of his vehicle, crashed into a tree in front of a home and the car burst into flames.
Dallas Police Department confirmed that Officer George died Tuesday.
Officers are still searching for the driver of the white Suzuki.
