Pregnant Woman Dies And Baby Survives In Fatal South Dallas Shooting

A man was arrested in connection to the shooting involving a pregnant woman.
The altercation took place Sunday evening at 2610 Marburg Street when 8 month pregnant Delashon Jefferson,21 and her boyfriend Lagarius Donnell Rainey,25 got into an altercation that turned physical. Jefferson’s family heard her screaming and bust the door down to come help defend her. Rainey grabbed a gun and began shooting. Jefferson and her brother in law Daverson Sanders,25 were both shot and transported to a nearby hospital.
Sanders was shot and listed in stable condition. Doctors performed an emergency c section on Jefferson and was able to save the baby but the mother did not survive.
Rainey was arrested Monday near the scene and taken into Dallas County Jail with a bond set at $350,000.
