A student from McKinney North High School shot himself early Friday morning on campus.
Police are on campus ensuring the safety of the children and they are transporting the students to Boyd High School for parents to pick up.
Apparently the student came to school with the gun in his backpack and shot himself with a single gun shot wound.
Emergency crews transported the student to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No other students or staff were hurt or injured.
The investigation is still ongoing.
