Suspected Serial Killer Arrested While Searching For His Next Victim

Wesley Brownlee, 43, is a suspected serial killer from Stockton, California. Authorities say that he had been out searching for his next victim when he was apprehended on Saturday.

Brownlee was taken into custody early on Saturday in a community in Stockton, concluding a shooting spree that had begun last April.

Six people lost their lives, and one person was wounded. Detectives say that Brownlee is responsible for all of the occurrences.

The first victim was said to be Juan Miguel Vasquez Serrano. He had been killed in East Oakland last year. More than 12 months later, five other people were killed in Stockton. Two of those victims were killed just last month.

Police say that none of the victims had been robbed or beaten prior to them being shot. A motive is still being sought.

They added that they located Brownlee while he was searching for his next victim. A gun was found in his vehicle when he was arrested.

“As officers made contact, he was wearing dark clothing and a mask around his neck. He was also armed with a firearm when he was taken into custody. We are sure that we stopped another killing,” said Police Chief Stanley McFadden.

Authorities have credited tipsters with providing them with information that resulted in Brownlee’s apprehension.

Brownlee has been placed in the San Joaquin County Jail. He will be arraigned on Tuesday.
