On Friday night, around 10:15pm, a 17 year-old driver of a Mercury was speeding on I-20. He was headed west in Grand Prairie near Highway 161.
The driver lost control of his vehicle and smashed into a guardrail.
There were four other individuals in the car with him.
All five people were transported to a medical facility.
Eventually, the 17 year-old succumbed to his injuries. The other passengers were all injured but are expected to survive.
The investigation is on-going.
