Texas Lounge Raided After Posting “4-20” Event On Facebook

On April 20th, cannabis enthusiasts around the world celebrate what’s known as 4/20. This comes from the traditional time of day for these enthusiast to take part in marijuana. It has now become a popular time period in our culture.

However, in Texas, it is still unlawful to be in possession of marijuana, and one business is facing consequences after going to social media, discussing what they were going to do.

On April 20, authorities with the Special Investigations Unit had gone to LQ Lounge, in Killeen, Texas. This came after authorities received a complaint about an event that was happening at the location.

On Facebook, the business promoted a “Puff Puff Pass Paint N Sip” activity. They stated that everything would be about “ganja or shrooms.”

When officers got to there, they discovered what was going on and apprehended one person for Possession of Controlled Substance.

Following a search warrant being granted, authorities discovered drugs inside of the establishment.

Investigators recovered 26 grams of marijuana (leaf), 6 grams of a THC Wax Substance, 6.55 lbs. THC liquid, and 786 grams of an unknown purple substance. They also seized two cell phones, a vape pen, and drug paraphernalia.

Authorities have not released the name of the person who was taken into custody.
