Texas Man Wins $5.5 Million Lawsuit After Being Served “Too Much Alcohol”

Daniel Rawls, from Andrews, Texas, has won a $5.5 million dollar lawsuit.

He alleged that he was served too much alcohol at a restaurant although he has been apprehended several times for public intoxication.

While Rawls was at La Fogata Mexican Grill and Bar in 2019, he had a fight with another customer. He said that he suffered major head injuries.

He said that he had several drinks at the bar. However, he stated the bartender didn’t stop serving him when it was apparent that he was drunk.

Rawls says that the owner should have trained the staff better on issues like this.

When the owner, Lourdes Galindo, didn’t show up to court on July 19, Rawls was awarded a default judgment.

Galindo has 30 days to file and appeal the decision.
