Top-Paid High School Basketball Player Arrested For Felony Gun Charges

One of the nation’s top-paid high school basketball players, Mikey Williams, is said to have been apprehended in San Diego, California. This was for several charges of assault.

Authorities say that the 18-year-old was apprehended just prior to 3:30 p.m. for five felony charges of assault with a firearm. The incident was said to have happened on Thursday at Williams’ residence in Jamul.

Reports indicate that he was freed on Thursday evening on a $50K bond.

Williams is ranked number 34 in the class of 2023 and is a four-time recruit from San Ysidro High School.

Although he has been given many opportunities from multiple colleges, he has committed to Penny Hardaway’s Memphis program.

Since his apprehension, there is no information on what will happen with his basketball career.
