“Turn Around, And Go Back Home,” Dallas Interim City Manager Tells Other Cities Possibly Interested In Hiring Police Chief Eddie Garcia

It is a well-known fact that many Texas cities are interested in Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia. He is said to have been an important factor in lessening crime in Dallas and has aided in boosting police morale and citizens’ trust in relation to where the department is headed.

Interim City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert expressed that she and City Councilmen desire to keep him in Dallas as he has made great strides. She stated that she is aware that it will take a lot of work to make that  happen, but the city is working on it. Tolbert added that she believes that Chief Garcia wants to stay in Dallas, as well.

Tolbert sent a message to the cities that are looking for a new police chief. “Turn around, and go back home,” she said. Tolbert has vowed to keep the public and the City Council abreast of any progress on the matter.
