A woman was attacked and killed by her 2 pit bull terriers Sunday morning.
Irving police responded to a call to assist Irving Fire Department on the 3000 block of N. O’Connor and when they arrived they saw Johana Vilafane,33 being viciously attacked by her two dogs.
Officers were unable to intervene due to the aggressiveness of the dogs so an officer used his firearm to shoot both dogs and were then able to transport the victim to Parkland Hospital.
Vilafane did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
This investigation is ongoing.
