An Arlington Martin High School senior, Oforitsenere Bodunrin, is about to finish high school at the top of her class. However, she is being recognized for more than her grades.

“I’m 14. I don’t really like to be like, ‘Hey, I’m 14! This is amazing! This is great!’ I just like to talk to people normally and if they find out, they find out,” Bodunrin stated.

The track that the teen is on is definitely astonishing but not to her family.

“Because my sister did it, like, 4 years ago,” Bodunrin said.

Her sister, Fifehanmi is an alumnus of the same school and graduated at the same age. Now, at the tender age of 18, she is about to graduate from LeTourneau University this year.

Bodunrin has expressed that her sister has motivated her, and she hopes that she can travel and see the world. Not only does she have incredible grades, Bodunrin is also the president of the Key club, editor for Martin School News, historian for the Black Student Union, and she does so much more.

“Surround yourself with people that encourage you and, like, surround yourself with people that have similar goals to you. But also, like, don’t shut people out just because you don’t think that they fit your criteria, ” Bodunrin advised.

In the fall, the 14-year-old plans to attend UT Arlington, majoring in computer science and aviation.
