200 sex trafficking victims and over 125 suspects were found by the FBI as a two-week child exploitation operation was conducted in July.

As “Operation Cross Country” took place, the FBI found 59 victims of child sex trafficking and child sexual exploitation and 59 missing children.

The FBI had worked with state and local agencies to name or apprehend 126 suspects of child sexual exploitation and human trafficking and 68 people who were suspected of trafficking. One of the agencies that they partnered with was the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

“Behind every statistic, there is a person with dreams, aspirations, and the right to live a life free from child sex trafficking and exploitation. As a society, we must work together to ensure the protection, support, and empowerment of those impacted by this heinous crime,” stated the president of NCMEC.
