Dozens of Dead Horses and Dogs in Cages Found on Collin County Property

2.3kviews

Landscapers working at a Collin County property discover 12 dead horses and 24 dead dogs in cages.

As CBS reported, landscapers Mike Watrous and Alston Mays, who have worked on the property years ago, were hired for tree trimming and clean up on the Westminster property.

That’s when the two of them noticed an overwhelming smell of death and subsequently found nearly 40 dead animals. They began taking videos and photos of what they saw and reported it to authorities immediately.

On Tuesday, the Collin County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at the property and discovered a dozen dead horses. Two dozen dead dogs, many of which were decaying in their cages, were also found dead on the property.

While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, many Collin County residents allege that 22-year-old Rachel Sword is one of the suspects in the case.

Sword was arrested on Thursday for Cruelty of Non-livestock Animals: Kill/Poison/SBI. Her bond was set at $85,000.

  1. Give me 5 minutes in a locked room with this POS and any other guilty parties. Sickening. No living being should ever experience this kind of torture. My heart aches for these poor animals and for the people who had to find this and those who will have to clean it up. My blood is boiling.
