A 5 year old boy was accidentally shot by his 3 year old brother early Wednesday morning. 
According to police the shooting took place in an apartment complex located in the Redbird area near interstate 20.
It is unclear as to how the 3 year old got the gun but the father was transporting his son to the hospital when police pulled him over and noticed his son shot in the torso area.
They then transported the 5 year old to Children’ Medical Center where he is expected to survive.
No charges have been filed at this time but the case is being sent to Dallas County District Attorney’s Office.
