A 5 month old baby girl died after being left in a hot daycare van outside for several hours Wednesday. 
According to Jacksonville police they were called out to the 5800 block of Lennox Avenue to Ewing’s Love & Hope Preschool & Academy when an employee discovered an infant unresponsive in a daycare van.
Apparently the mother called the daycare to check on her daughter and that’s when the employee discovered the infant in the back of the van.
The infant was in the van from 8-1 and when officers arrived they tried resuscitating the infant while transporting her to Wolfson Children’s hospital where she later died.
The investigation at the daycare is ongoing. Police say daycare hasn’t had any violations or problems before.
