On Thursday afternoon, a child was struck by a car at the intersection of Park Springs Drive and Sublett Road in Arlington. The incident occurred right after school dismissal.
Officers responded to the scene close to Mary Moore Elementary School just prior to 4 p.m. They transported the child to a medical facility in critical condition for treatment of her wounds.
She was later declared deceased.
As the investigation began, it seemed as though the child was probably attempting to cross from the north side of Sublett Road to the south side when she was struck.
An investigation is on-going.
