68-Year-Old Woman Shoots And Kills Her Daughter: “I Did That To My Child”

A 68-year-old woman has been charged in relation to her daughter’s death.

Shirley Lee, of South Bend, Indiana, is facing charges of murder, voluntary manslaughter, and firearm enhancement.

Records show that Lee made multiple comments prior to being questioned. She is quoted as saying, “I did that to my child.”

Authorities answered to a residence in regards to a shooting on Sunday. The caller had said that his mother had contacted him, saying that she had shot his sister.

Police discovered Lee inside the residence when they arrived to the scene. Lee had then stated that her daughter had been shot.

She added that she had been in a verbal dispute with her daughter, Zawondra, when she went to get her firearm and shot her. Prior to that she had asked her daughter to leave her alone and to stop talking to her. Additionally, she had gone to her room and shut the door in Zawondra’s face three times in order to cease the disagreement, the mother added.

However, Lee said that her daughter entered the room anyway, and she shot her.

Lee is now in custody and being held in the St. Joseph County Jail with no bond.

  3. Im appalled and baffled by these comments from these Blacks on here. Smh shooting her daughter isnt justifiable and wont help her non in court. That premeditated she’s going for as well not self defense.
