An 83-year-old woman from Dallas died at a medical facility from injuries she sustained in a traffic accident on Saturday, close to Madisonville, Texas.
Authorities say that Lou Johnson Rattler passed away at HCA Hospital in Conroe. She had been a passenger in a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder which had wrecked just prior to noon.
The Department of Public Safety noted that the driver of the Pathfinder experienced a medical issue as he was traveling south on Interstate 45. He then lost control of the vehicle and hit a road sign before going through a ditch and heading into the southbound access road, hitting a fence and tree.
James Johnson, a 77-year-old from Dallas, was named as the driver. He was transported to a medical facility in Bryan and received treatment for non-life threatening wounds.
