American Airlines Baggage Handler Dies During Incident At Airport

On Saturday, an American Airlines employee was killed in a fatal incident that occurred in Alabama.

The Federal Aviation Administration stated that the employee was killed on the ramp where American Airlines Flight 3408, an Embraer E175, was stationed.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred at about 3 p.m., and the worker that was killed was a baggage handler. The flight had just come in from Dallas.

“We are devastated by the accident involving a team member of Piedmont Airlines, an American Airlines regional carrier, at Montgomery Regional Airport. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and our local team members. We are focused on ensuring that all involved have the support they need during this difficult time,” a statement from the airline noted.

No further information has been released at this time.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are continuing to investigate the matter.
