American Woman Killed In Shark Attack While Paddle Boarding In The Bahamas

An American woman died Monday morning after being viciously attacked by a shark while paddle boarding in the Bahamas.

The woman, who was visiting from Boston, was attacked around 11:15 a.m. while paddle boarding with a relative near the Sandals resort.

A lifeguard on duty, who witnessed the incident, was able to pull the woman and her relative out of the water and into a rescue boat. He immediately began administering cpr to try and save the woman.

However, the woman suffered severe trauma to her body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman whose name has not been released is said to have been in her 40’s and a guest at the Sandals resort.

Sandals resort released a statement saying:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic passing of a guest while on a paddleboarding activity nearly a mile from the shore. We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the guest’s family and loved ones. We remain in close contact with them and are providing all support possible during this difficult time.”
