Atatiana Jefferson’s Sister, Amber Carr Is Hospitalized And Given Days To Live

8.4kviews

On Tuesday, the family of Atatiana Jefferson had a Christmas celebration, that was postponed, in a hospital room.

Amber Carr, Jefferson’s sister, was placed in the hospital as Aaron Dean’s murder trial took place.

Two weeks ago, Dean was punished to 11 years, 10 months, and 12 days in prison for the fatal shooting of Jefferson.

Amber Carr is 11-year-old Zion Carr’s mother. He is the nephew of Jefferson who was in the residence when Dean shot and killed his aunt.

On Tuesday, the family’s lawyer, Lee Merritt, said that Amber is now fighting for her life at a medical facility.

“They are experiencing this in real time. Families spend so much time fighting for justice. They don’t have time to grieve and heal,” Merritt stated.

He added that Amber Carr has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, has only days to live, and is ineligible to receive a heart transplant.

“A doctor told her that she will not live through the weekend,” Merritt continued.

He said that Carr has fought for three years to bring justice to her family after her sister was killed. Merritt says that her health worsened after Jefferson’s killing.

“The hardest part of all of this, for me and for the family, is dealing with the children who are growing up, experiencing trauma after trauma. Zion was 8 years old when he watched his auntie get shot to death. He’s now playing with his mother in a hospital bedroom,” Merritt commented.

Right after the trial was over, Ashley Carr, Jefferson’s other sister, said that the family was relieved that justice was served.

Now, the family is fighting another battle on their journey.
