An armed robber was shot in the face Wednesday night when he attempted to rob a man in front of a gas station in Houston.
According to reports the incident happened a little before 11pm on the 8600 block of Airport Blvd.
A man was walking to the gas station when an armed man approached him demanding his belongings.
The man who was also armed pulled out a gun and shot the would be robber in the face.
Officers and emergency crews were called to the scene.
He was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive.
Once he is released from the hospital he will be taken into custody for multiple criminal charges.
The man that shot the robber was also taken into custody for questioning and said to be cooperating with police.
He is not expected to face any charges.
HPD Lt. R Willkens said in a statement, “The complainant was defending himself. He had a pistol as well. He shot one time, hit him in the face. He went down and, not long after that, HFD was close by and our units were close by. We got on the scene. HFD transported the individual.”
Police say the incident was caught on surveillance video and remains under investigation.
