An 18-year-old who was out fishing with his dad at Mountain Creek in Dallas went underwater on Sunday and didn’t resurface.
Authorities say the young man and his father were in the shallow waters close to the Mountain Creek Lake Dam, near S. Merrifield Road and Keeneland Parkway.
Witnesses reported that the 18-year-old submerged underwater and never resurfaced.
Rescue teams from Dallas Fire-Rescue, Dallas Police Department, and Texas Parks and Wildlife were dispatched shortly after 4 p.m.
Boats, sonar equipment, and drones were used to aid in the search on Sunday, however, nightfall came quickly with no discoveries.
The search continued Monday morning and the body of an 18-year-old man was discovered shortly after.
