19-year-old Ariel Cruz has been apprehended in relation to the killing of his 21-year-old girlfriend. She was discovered fatally shot in the trunk of her own vehicle, authorities in Houston say.The unnamed victim had last been seen on Tuesday, at about 7 a.m., and her mother had last spoken to her at about 8:20 a.m.
The victim’s friend had tracked her cell phone to Indigo Street, where her Honda was discovered parked on the road, authorities say. Since the car seemed locked, police didn’t go in it.
On the other hand, the victim’s family stayed at the location, along with Cruz, to look for her.
Eventually, the victim’s dad broke out a car window, and when relatives opened the trunk, they located the victim’s body inside of it.
Now, authorities have announced that Cruz has been charged with murder. They say that he confessed to his part in his girlfriend’s killing, citing that she had broken up with him previously.
