The Dallas Police Department wants to make sure that kids are safe and have all the tools they need this school year.
To ensure that the school year is successful and fun, the department teamed up with Safer Dallas Better Dallas on Monday. Additionally, they have distributed 400 school supply bags to 26 classrooms at John Neely Bryan Elementary School. Students were greeted by Police Chief Garcia and his command staff.
“The first time our kids see us can’t be in a moment of crisis. Our children throughout the city are gonna see us in areas where we need to be visible to ensure their safety…At the same time, they also need to see us in times of non-crisis…in times of doing something good..So that when we say that their future is our future and their success is our success, we mean it,” the Chief declared.
