A 16 year old Desoto high school football player was killed early Friday morning during a crash in Houston.
Tristan Sanders,16 was riding in the backseat of a BMW when they collided with a Hummer causing the BMW to split in half.
Sanders was killed and two other teens in the vehicle with him were transported to a hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the Hummer suffered minor injuries and was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
Police say more charges may be filed during the investigation.
Officers believe speed also played a major factor in the crash and are investigating who ran the red light causing the crash.
This investigation is ongoing.
