Desoto High School was placed on lock down Monday afternoon after someone posted a threat via twitter.
SWAT was called out to assist officers and check the school.
Sergeant Sherman Williams said the threat was unverified and that there was no actual threat to the school at the time. Desoto ISD did place the high school and middle school on lockdown while the school was being searched.
Children were released at 2:30pm.
