TSA said they are experiencing an alarming number of people who are attempting to bring firearms on airplanes.

In the first nine months of this year, they have seen more guns at security checkpoints than any other year since the agency’s inception in 2011.

According to a report, 4,495 guns have been discovered in carry-on bags or on the person, since October 3. Neither one is permitted. This number is equivalent to about 11 firearms per 1 million passengers that go through the checkpoints.

Furthermore, in Texas, the rate at which travelers try to bring guns aboard has increased 67% from 2019 to 2020.

TSA has said that most people say, ” I forgot it was in my bag…or, the firearm belongs to a relative,” as a reason why they have the gunnat that point.

Passengers are allowed to put their firearms in their checked bags. However, they can’t be loaded an have to be in a locked, hard case, and the bullets must be separated from it.
