A former OU football player was found fatally shot inside a Dallas air bnb.

The incident happened Thursday, around 10 p.m., when officers responded to a call on the 500 block of South Ervay Street.

Upon arrival they found the victim, Du’Vonta Lampkin, 25 lying on his back with a single gunshot wound. Emergency crews arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

During the investigation officers learned that the air bnb was rented out by a man and woman. Lampkin was staying there until his apartment was ready.

He was scheduled to check out the air bnb on May 6 but stopped answering his phone. A witness then went over to check on him and discovered him dead inside the air bnb.

The witness also told police that some of Lampkin’s personal belongings were missing.
