Fort Worth City Council Approves Smoking Ban For Bars

Fort Worth’s City Council approved the smoking ban that will prohibit smoking in bars and bingo halls.

The Council voted Tuesday night after testimonies and discussing the ban 8-1 in favor of the ordinance.

The ban will limit smoking on patios and will also prohibit smoke shops from smoking if they are within 300 feet of a school, university or hospital.

Some bar owners have expressed their concern about the expanded restrictions and think it may be bad for business.

The law will take effect in 90 days.
