Four Albuquerque teens have been charged in the drive by shooting that claimed the life of a 5 year old girl while she slept in her bed.

Two of the suspects, 15 year old Alexander Barraza and 16 year old Yahir Carballo, have been arrested. The other two suspects, 15 year old Alan Ramirez and 17 year old Jose Luis Ramirez, still remain at large.

The incident occurred on a Sunday after the suspects stole two Kia Soul vehicles and had a shootout at the Vista Del Sol mobile park.

5 year old Galilea Samaniego was inside her home on the 2700 block of Paseo del Canto Dr sleeping in her bed when bullets came blazing through the mobile home.

When officers arrived they found Samaniego suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. They tried to administer life saving measures and she was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

It was reported that two teen males were also inside the home and they were the intended target not Samaniego. Then four minutes later another drive by was committed and surveillance cameras caught the same Kia’s leaving the scene.

The two groups of teens had been involved in a feud that stemmed all the way back to middle school. The teens had a dispute over a girl that escalated throughout the years.

Later that evening authorities found the stolen vehicles abandoned with one of them on fire.

All four teens are charged with an open count of murder, conspiracy, shooting at a dwelling or occupied building, shooting at or from a motor vehicle and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
